EOTC Week

At the end of term four we did some activates for E.O.T.C week. E.O.T.C week means education outside the classroom.

This year we did Surfing in Sumner with a fish and chip lunch, Adrenalin Forest, Mega Air and Top Team.

First we did surfing which was really fun we had awesome teachers there we also did body boarding.
Then on the Friday we did Adrenalin forest if you don't know what it is it's when your up high on a rope course. On the Monday we were suppose to go sailing but it rained so we stayed at school and did art and watched movies. Then on Tuesday we went to Mega Air and we did Top Team. So first we did Mega Air it was really fun and hot to. There was a foam pit and a air mattress that you could jump on I had a lot of fun at Mega Air. The we did Top Team and it was challenging but fun and I would like to do it again. That is all that we did and it was really fun my favorite would be Mega Air or surfing. I felt happy and nervous for Adrenalin forest.

I will do it! I will try there is nothing that will stop me. There is no such thing of the word I can’t it's I can’t do it “Yet”

I maybe slow but I think that I am fast if you don't then don't tell me keep it to yourself I might win or lose but I don't care if I lose or win it's about having fun.

I may not achieve any of my goals but I have my whole life to live and I may achieve my goals in the future you never know.

You can't push me down because I will get back up again.

Letter To 25 Year Old Me!

Dear Future Me,

By the time you are  reading this many years would have past in fact you would be 25 years old here is a reminder what your goals, dreams and aspirations were when you were 11 years old,

You would like to travel the world you would love to go to France, Canada and Africa to see animals. After that you wanted to be a Dairy Farmer and save lots of money to build your own mansion on your land. If you ever leave being a dairy farmer you will be a vet and care for animals.

You would also be a Youtuber and make vlogs and other fun stuff with your two kids and partner. you would also want to have a second home at a beach house. In your own time you would like to write books. You would have a cat. You will call it Snoopy just like your childhood cat.

Hopefully you have received this and you will be able to achieve most of this.

Eat Strawberries!

Look there is a slug eating my strawberries but they aren't the only ones that like strawberries we like strawberries too. Strawberries are popular throughout the world even insects love strawberries to. Did you know that some strawberries have over 200 seeds? I love strawberries and  you should to, here are some reasons why you should eat them.

They are Delicious:

Strawberries come in all shapes and sizes and they are one of my best fruits. You can always buy them fresh and pick them fresh from your garden! You can also dip them in chocolate & they taste just as good. The last thing about them being delicious is that sometimes they can be sour  I like that because when you take a big bite of a strawberry you will not know that it is going to be sour then BOOM! A big sour bit hits you and then you get a surprise! Sometimes they can also be soft, it’s not the best but it still tastes like a normal strawberry! They are also used in lots of things. Some people think that strawberries are sour but they are sweet!

They are used in lots of things:

They are put in lollies, Ice creams and ice blocks which taste good. You can also put them in milkshakes and they taste really delicious and good.  You can also buy them fresh because you do not need to wash them because they have already been washed by the people who pick them. You also do not need to peel them or cut them you can just eat them straight out of the box and strawberries will make you be strong as hulk!

I think that you should try strawberries if you haven't already and start eating them. They are really good and they will start growing in early autumn and after 60 days they are ready to be eaten!  When you try them you might think at first they are sour but then you start eating more you will enjoy them! They are fat free to so you will not get sick or unhealthy from them! Hopefully you will enjoy strawberries and start eating them!

Master Chief

Today we did something fun, we made food for topic. It was all healthy and yum here is what we had made, Smoothies, Salad, Kebabs and Zucchini Parmesan chips. My group the Megladons we made salad first and I cut the peppers and put it in the salad. Khush cut the cucumber and faith cut the Tomatoes and Trisha cut the carrots. we worked all together and we did make the salad, when we got to eat all the food the salad was yum. Then we made some smoothies.Trisha and I made the first smoothie and Faith helped me and Lasa helped Trisha. We put Bananas, Oranges, Kiwi Fruit, Pineapple and Spinach we also put in yogurt.

Nutrition learning

This term we have been learning about Health and Nutrition. We had to work in groups of 2-3. We had to see how much Fat, Sugar, Protein, Vitamins and Sodium. So you have to make sure that have some healthy stuff everyday and you could possibly have some takeaways 1-2 times every two weeks.

Swimming Fun (Holidays)

On saturday morning we went to Caroline Bay Pool. I went with Nana, Kirily, Hayley, Rocky, Leo Uncle Josh and William. I was looking forward to going on the hydro slides and inflatable course. I hoped to have lots of fun with my cousins from Australia.

It only took us 20 minutes to drive to Caroline Bay Pool because we stayed at my uncle's farm in Pleasant Point. When we were driving there I smelled KFC because we went passed KFC on the way there. We were finally there but my Nana wasn't there so we had to wait for them. Me, Hayley and Kirily had a race to go inside, and I came second because I nearly tripped on a rock. We all laughed when we went in.

Next we paid and a nice lady put some wristbands on for the hydro slide. We went and got changed. As soon as the doors opened in the pool area a big heat wave hit me it was so hot in there. Ran to the pool. We got told off by a lifeguard for running. So we had to walk we went into this hot pool.

After that we went on the hydroslides to have a race. I won the first round and Kirily won the second round. Next we seen people putting up a inflatable course over in the cold pool. I fell off once because the rope was far away. Then Kirily went and she fell of to. We both had two more goes and we did not fall of. A lady was spraying us with cold water and then I got distracted and nearly fell off then lots of people laughed at me.

After that we seen uncle Josh and he seen people jumping of a tall diving board. He ran to it and jumped off he did a big bomb. We went on it to it was scary at first but then I just jumped and I got use to it. We were there for like 2 hours then we had to leave.

We got some pizza for lunch. We drove back to Pleasant Point and had lunch after lunch we went outside and feed the calves Jay Jay and Daisy. Jay Jay was dribbling so much it was so yuck. Then we went on the swings. That was my Holiday.

Conclusion:

This was really fun and I enjoyed spending time with my cousins. I felt so happy that we could do this. I really liked feeding the calves. I would like to do this next holidays too.

Missing Girl Movie By Inaka and Sharlisa

I enjoyed making this movie and it took a lot of practise.

Film Festival 2016 Ako Ngatahi

 

This term we have been working on making a movie. Our movie is called The Missing Girl.  We ad to plan our movie on storyboard and then write a script. When we had time to record we recorded our movie on the Ipad. Our movie was about a girl Nicky (Inaka) went missing when she touched a magic ball. We got some help from Aiden to record. We upload videos on I movie. Hope some people who has a child that goes to our school in Ako NgaTahi can come to see our movie festival on Thursday 22nd september 2016 at 12pm. Hope we will see you there!

My Horror Space Adventure!

It was 1961 my trainer Joe had raised me ever since I was a baby, he was like a dad to me. One day Joe was talking on the phone while I was lying on a little surgeon's table eating a banana. I just thought he was talking to someone until I heard him say…”Ok that would be fine my chimp won't mind being in space for 65 years!”

Yes I am a chimp, my name is Lan. Then that's when it all happened.

NASA Space Station is ready for lift off! 3,2,1! BANG, CRASH. I felt something rumbling underneath me. I looked out for a split second and I was high up from the ground. I looked around me I was in something I have never been in before a space capsule! I did not know what to do. I talked into a radio that was beside me I said “I’ve made it! Lan is  in the air!” I waited… and waited… and waited… for a reply, but all that came out was ERROR!!....ERROR!!….ERROR!! Then I heard, “THE ROCKET IS LOW ON FUEL!!” That came out from the radio.

I was scared. Am I ever going to see Joe again? Am I going to go back home ever again? Will I be in space until I die? I had so much questions running through my mind.

But then I felt sleepy and fell into a coma that I thought I would never awake from, and did not wake for...

Sixty Five Years……

Beep...Beep...Beep... I struggled to wake up my vision was blurry and my mind was to. Wait where am I? Where is everyone? I yelled out the name Joe, but silence was all I could hear. No reply or a banana just the scene of space and me in the reflection. I’m wrinkled, old, grey haired. I turned around and seen the milky way, I do like being up in space but not alone. It is 2026 now, I would love to go back home and play in the trees eating a banana and playing with Joe. But In 1961 was  probably my last time seeing Joe. I remember what he looks like, he has blonde hair, he is kind and helpful. He does not seem kind because he sent me in space but maybe it was the right thing for him. He also works for NASA Space Station. They were the ones who wanted me to go to space, because Joe was the only one who had a pet chimp, that kind of means I’m famous.

I tried to sleep but I kept thinking about home and if I'll ever get back. I looked up and that's when I seen the most beautiful thing ICE CREAM!! Oh no, hhhmmm? EARTH!! A smile lit up my face with excitement because I had found my home.

I was the only one in the capsule so it was up to me to use the control panel and get me home safe. I need to figure out which buttons to push and how to control this thing. Maybe they left an instruction manual in here? My heart pounded, I could not land without something to help me. I looked everywhere, that's when I looked up and seen a photo of me and Joe. I am glad that I have found that photo now I can see him all the time. Thats right I need to look for a control manual to land. I have not found It so I need to figure out how to land with all of these buttons in front of me. Maybe I should press this button. “PHEWWW!” I go down really fast. The capsule try’s to break through the earth's atmosphere and it does make it through. A parachute pops up above the capsule like popcorn, it makes it feel more calm. I still have not made down yet but I can see the ground far down beneath me. I shoot down to the ground “SHEWWW!” “THUDD!!”

TERRA FIRMA!!

The dust had past the window, so I looked out and I gasped. I can not understand what  happened to this place! It’s been destroyed. I looked around everywhere the trees were leafless like it was autumn the buildings have no windows, and worst of all where is everyone? Where is Joe? I looked down and in my cold wrinkled hands was the photo of Joe and I. I yelled “WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THIS TO ME JOE?” I scrunched up the paper and threw it at the ground.

This is not just a planet it's my home!

I looked at the photo and a shadow overcame it!

That shadow is weird I know it’s not my shadow because, it’s behind me this is weird?

So I turned around but I did not have time …...

THWACK!!!

I wake up in a room that looked exactly like the room at Joe’s house. I heard talking but it was a chimp

“OO AA OA” (That means we have killed the space chimp.) Wait!!  What?? I’m not dead, Or am I?? I punched myself to see if I was a ghost.

“Oww” I yelled, I’m not dead. But all of a sudden it was so quiet the chimps had stopped talking. I jumped down off the surgeon’s table. I looked behind me no one was there, so I looked in front and there was a big chimp with a gun on his belt. He grinned and I gasped for air he pulled out his gun then he pulled out a photo and said,

“I have Joe he is in a big room in a chair with guards around him.”  I looked closer at the picture and seen my worst enemy before I meet Joe, it was Gwen. She worked at the animal museum she once tried to stuff me but Joe saved me. Wait I need that photo, so I tried to dodge big chimp, but he stopped me with his big big hands. He pulled me up by the neck and threw me into a small tight room with no windows, just a little plastic lookout. It kind of reminded me of the space capsule. So I pretended I was lifting off then I heard a voice, Joe? I thought I was daydreaming so I carried on what I was doing. But I kept on hearing it so I peeked out of the lookout and it was him, it was Joe! He was so old just like me. He looked at me he smiled and waved. He looked very weak he could not fight out of all those guards. I tried to get out to help him, I heard screaming out shouting I looked up and Joe had killed the guards “What the!?” “How did you do that” I said

“A little bit of training” Joe said. Joe helped me out and we ran away. Big chimp stopped us in our path.

“Where do you two think you are going?” He said

“To find our home and live happy again.” Joe said.

“Oh No your not.” Big chimp said. He threw me and I landed right in front of the photo. I did not have time to escape he had slayed me with a knife. The darkness overcomes my eyes and I slowly start to close them. I quickly say “Good bye Joe, thank you for eevverryythhh….” That was my last words. The darkness overcome my eyes and I struggle to breath, “ahoo ahoo.” I fall into a heavy sleep.

I wake to the sound of a phone ringing, I hear a voice, “ Is that God?” “Am I in heaven?” “Am I dead?” I say to myself.

I do not know what to do. So I stay where I am and wait for some company.

I heard someone talking on a phone. It sounded like Joe's voice I did not have time to hear what he said. He came closer and closer to me, wait that's Joe when he was young. He said to me,

“Are you ready to go to space now Lan?” Joe said.

“NOO!” But it was too late. He had given me a banana and I ate it and it put me to sleep. Joe took me to NASA space station, It is happening! My dream is coming true!

This morning it was the first day of spring and we celebrated it by having a sports fun day. We did this with Room 3 and we had to get in teams. It was really fun playing all the games and sports and helping people if they were stuck. At this sport morning we showed lots of Respect, Kindness, Honesty and Excellence. We had games like Basketball, Netball, Hockey and other fun games. We had six people in our teams. This was really fun.
