Sunken Forest

                                                          Sunken Forest

For two terms our class has been reading the book The Sunken Forest.

It all started when Matt was walking to school and a old lady was struggling to take out the trash so he went over and help her and she wanted to reward him. He took the scones instead of the cash. A couple of days after he got accused of stealing the whole jar of money with worth hundreds of dollars. For punish he went on camp Were he discovered a giant Eel he named her Taniwha Elsa. He meet two new awesome friends Paul and Azura. At night there was a Heavy rain storm coming. Cameron one of the mean kids new about Elsa. Later that night Matt went and feed Elsa Sausages. Over the night there was lots of ran. In the morning there was a warning to get to high ground and stay out of Lake Waikaremoana. But Cameron didn't listen he went on the kayak and was looking for Elsa. He was in trouble then the sirens went of and the dam that had formed over night was bursting. Matt jumped in to save Cam but something was on the line. It was Elsa Matt dived down to see that she was stuck there was no way he could help her he used his teeth but it did nothing. He swam to the surface and help Cam. When it was over Matt went to see the river again and found Satch's grandpas watch from 60 years ago. He gave it back to Satch at school. Matt was a Hero.

My favourite part was when Matt found the watch that belonged to the Policemans Father.  He took it to the Watchmaker. Because it was cool to know that after 60 years for looking it was not lost but still in the lake and no one had ever found it after looking for all those years. Policeman Lewis Armstrong was very happy to have it back so he could give it to his father.

On Monday, the year seven and eight students went to Orana Park. It was really sunny and a nice day to go to the zoo. We had an awesome zoo teacher named Toby. He showed us some cool animals like Gorilla, Cheetahs, Siamang Gibbon and more. We learned some cool stuff about the animals. My favorite animal was the Meerkat.

We are learning to create a positive digital footprint.

We often share personal information when we are online. The people we share with could be our friends and family or people we don't know. We need to make smart decisions about what personal information we share online.
